I'm not sure if you've heard about it, but this weekend is Creative Motion's spinfest event. It's a pretty cool skill-toy meet up, largely populated by insane circus folk and other performers. I'm not officially tied in with the group, but they are good friends and this is where I learned most of what I know about juggling.

This go around marks the first time SpinFest will be held at its new location, which is over at Heights Park in Richardson. I think it is a much better location than the original White Rock site, as it is larger and has better public facilities (read bathrooms and nearby businesses).

The group generally meets up around 3pm, and gets going until 8pm or so. Best bet is to get to the park, and head towards the people making glorious carny-fools of themselves.

Once the crowd breaks down, the usual tradition is to invade a locally-owned business to relax and eat. In Richardson, the options are both tasty and plentiful. I'm also up for a hookah after, since my favorite hookah bar is just around the corner.

Moving an event of any size is really hard to do. I think it would be great if people could spread the word around a little and help them get re-established at their new spot in the park.

I'm planning on being out there, and bringing a small horde of friends. I hope you'll join me and do the same.
