This is from Major Tom.....
Time: August 15, 2009 at 6pm to August 16, 2009 at 12am
Location: Casa de Major Tom (message Major Tom for directions)
Greetings generous North Texans! As you know, our awesome brothers and sisters in Austin are raising the Temple for Burning Man '09, and they desperately need our help STAT!!
DID YOU KNOW? This year at Burning Man, we (Community Art Makers in Austin) will be bringing The Temple. This will be the first time this destination art installation has been created outside of California and, because everything is bigger in Texas, we're aiming to BRING IT!
For a donation of $50 or more per person, paid by Wed. August 12 via Paypal to julie@ixwith.com, you reserve one of the limited # of seats on August 15th at a dinner party at my home.
The amazingly talented and delicious Chef Roadrash has designed a mouth-watering 4-course Asian extravaganza for your dining and donating pleasure! The menu includes:
Succulent Shrimp Scallion dumplings & Vegetable Summer Rolls served with Ginger/Plum/Soy & Peanut dipping sauces
Small Asian salad with mandarin orange slices & cucumber moons, lightly tossed w/dressing & garnished with avocado wedges
Pan Seared Ahi Tuna Steaks with Ginger Miso Cilantro sauce served with an Asian Vegetable Slaw
...and a sweet, tempting surprise dessert! Each course served with specially chosen wine accompaniment.
As is customary in our culture, please bring your own appetizer plate, salad plate, dinner plate, wine glass & utensils. We will wash & dry them before you go home!
Please come dressed in your Playa best, or as you are! We will be showing Burning Man themed movies and photos, and sharing fun and fellowship Playa style- please join us!
If you are unable to make this event, never fear, a public event will follow later this month!
For more information about the Temple and its progress, visit: communityartmakers.com/
If you can't donate $50 but would still like to contribute to this VERY worthy cause, message Geo privately and she'll give you her PayPal info.
