It was a pleasure speaking with you today. As discussed, there are two different ways you can have an art exhibition at South Side on Lamar.

First, you can follow the procedures at southsideliving.info/art_of_...tory.htm to schedule an exhibit in our Janette Kennedy Gallery. We do not charge the artists and the community has free access. The gallery usually books 4 to 6 months in advance.

Second, you could rent a space to have an art exhibition that fits your timeline. You can find all of the pricing, guidelines and booking process at southsideliving.info/rental/index.html.

Listed on the attached fees worksheet are the non-resident, non-profit and resident room rental rates as well as items we have for rent such as tables, chairs, linens and wine glasses. You will also find the square footage of each space and how many it will accommodate for a seated dinner or cocktail style. We do allow caterers to be brought in and they are allowed to serve food/alcohol. Any event over 30 people does require an off duty uniformed officer. Events over 100 people require valet.

The booking process is as follows:

Once you decide you want to book a space then the application must be completed and emailed back to me. The application has to go through an approval process. If your application is approved, I will prepare a rental agreement for you to sign. The deposit must be received 10 days after the rental agreement is executed. The deposit check is kept in an "on hold" file. It's not actually cashed. If there aren't damages to the space once the event is complete then the check is shredded. We will only cash the deposit check if there are damages after your event is over or you cancel after the 30 day notification period. Payment in full which will include the room rental, cleaning fee and any additional items you rent must be received two weeks prior to the event.

I would love to give you a tour of all the event spaces here at South Side. I’m available for tour Monday – Friday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm by appointment only.

Guys, ive been living in south side on lamar for about a year and a half now and I've seen a lot of things. I love this idea. THis is just my opnion but I suggest that we book the kennedy gallery. There have been some very nice exhibitions in that Gallery. How ever far out they put it I suggest we take it. THe kennedy gallery is free, its a nice gallery space. And for the most part open to the public for I think a month. We could have a opening night and leave our work up for a while and people could come and see it whenever they want to for a certain period of time. Just my two cents. Tigger and I could initate the bid im sure.
